Set or change your home & work addresses

Type less and get directions faster by setting your home and work addresses. On your phone or tablet, you can also choose an icon for your home and work.

Tip: You must be signed in to set, edit, and find your home and work on the map. Learn how to sign in to Google Maps.

Set your home or work address

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Maps app Maps.

  2. Tap SavedSave place. Under "Your lists," tap Labeled.

  3. Choose Home or Work.
  4. Enter the address.

Delete your home or work address

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Maps app Maps.

  2. Tap SavedSave place. Under "Your lists," tap Labeled.

  3. Next to "Home" or "Work," tap More More and then  Remove home or Remove work.

Pin directions to home or work

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Maps app Maps. Set your home and work addresses, if you haven't already.
  2. Tap Directions Directions.
  3. Select your mode of transportation.
  4. TapHome or Work.
  5. At the bottom, tap Pin .

You can find your pinned trips on the Go Go tab with ETA and traffic information for that trip. Learn more about your favorite trips.

Pick your favorite icon for home or work

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Maps app Maps.

  2. Tap SavedSave place. Under "Your lists," tap Labeled.

  3. Next to "Home" or "Work," tap More and then Change icon.
  4. Tap a new icon for your home or work from the list.
  5. Tap Save.

Tip:

  • You can only add icons for home or work.
  • Your labeled places are private, so they only show up for you.

Fix problems with home and work in Maps

To use home and work when you search or use directions, you must turn on Web & App Activity. If you can't find home and work in Maps, learn how to turn on Web & App Activity.
